Summarecon Bandung by Summarecon Group wins at Real Estate Asia Built Environment Awards 2026
Summarecon Bandung is an integrated township combining residential, commercial, and innovation-driven spaces.
Summarecon Bandung by Summarecon Group received an accolade in the Urban Development and Regeneration Project of the Year - Indonesia category at the Real Estate Asia Built Environment Awards 2026, recognising its redevelopment of the Gedebage area into a township that integrates residential, commercial, and innovation-focused components.

The site in eastern Bandung previously lacked coordinated infrastructure and cohesive land use. Development introduced a single, planned layout that combines residential areas, commercial facilities, and business spaces within one boundary. Different activities now operate in close proximity, limiting the need to travel across separate districts for work, services, or daily routines.
Location plays a defining role. The township sits near the Tegalluar High-Speed Rail Station, part of the Whoosh High-Speed Railway, which connects Bandung with Jakarta and surrounding areas. This rail link improves access to the development and supports regular commuter movement between the township and the wider region.
Planning within the township is structured around an Urban Block concept. Pedestrian routes are prioritised, with the Great Street of Bandung serving as the primary axis linking key zones. Buildings, public areas, and commercial spaces are arranged along this corridor, with walkways designed to support direct movement across the site.
Taman Sumringah forms part of the development’s environmental framework. It consists of a network of parks designed with integrated water management features. Green areas and water systems operate together to manage runoff, support local ecology, and provide open space for public use.
Retail activity is centred on Summarecon Mall Bandung, which functions as a key commercial anchor within the township. It draws consistent visitor traffic and supports surrounding businesses. In parallel, designated areas accommodate creative and technology-related enterprises in line with Bandung’s Technopolis direction.
The redevelopment of Gedebage reflects a coordinated approach to land use, transport access, and mixed-use planning. Residential, commercial, and business functions are organised within one development, allowing the area to operate as a single urban district rather than a collection of separate zones.
