Jakarta hotel market to add 1,385 new rooms by 2027
These will be from eight hotel projects.
Greater Jakarta's hotel market expanded modestly in the first quarter of 2026, with the addition of the 175-room Novotel Pulo Mas lifting Jakarta's total hotel stock to 39,475 rooms, according to Savills.
Savills said the new opening increased hotel supply by 0.4% quarter-on-quarter and 3.7% year-on-year. Four-star hotels continue to dominate the market, accounting for 43% of total room supply, followed by five-star hotels at 29% and three-star properties at 28%.
The consultancy expects at least 1,385 additional rooms from eight projects to be delivered by 2027, with most comprising internationally branded four- and five-star hotels, reflecting continued confidence in Jakarta's position as a key business and MICE destination.
On the demand side, Savills said hotel performance softened during the first quarter as the market entered its typical post year-end slowdown. Occupancy also declined year-on-year, with government budget efficiency measures fully implemented in early 2026 and the timing of Eid Al-Fitr in March further weighing on corporate and MICE demand.
