Henderson Land captures Developer of the Year - Hong Kong for green strategy

The company has secured over HK$50 billion worth of green finance facilities.

Henderson Land Development Company Limited ("Henderson Land") stood out at the Real Estate Asia Awards 2025, earning the Developer of the Year - Hong Kong top prize, and the Luxury Residential Development of the Year - Hong Kong.

A leading real estate developer founded in 1976 with a market capitalisation of HK$114b at 31 December 2024. The company focusses on building sustainable developments in residential, commercial, and mixed-use categories with wellness features. Its projects stand on a sustainability strategy that advocates for a green planet, innovation, value for people, and community aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

The Group’s latest super Grade-A commercial development, The Henderson, has achieved 10 platinum-level building certifications, such as ModeScore Platinum, ActiveScore Platinum, BEAM Plus (New Building) Provisional Platinum, LEED Platinum Pre-Certification, and WELL Platinum Pre-Certification. The building features a semi-outdoor space on its 22nd floor Sky Garden where tenants can enjoy wellness classes in a green environment, surrounded by fresh air, a city view, and nearby greenery. The Group has also transformed the Lambeth Walk Rest Garden into The Henderson Art Garden, adjacent to the building, opened in 2025. Seamlessly blending art, innovation and sustainability, The Henderson Art Garden features diverse flora and nectar plants that attract a variety of birds and butterflies, enriching the area’s biodiversity.

In 2024, the Group’s near-term, long-term and net-zero targets were approved by the Science Based Target Initiatives, a corporate climate action organisation that works to combat the climate crisis.

In the same year, Henderson Land was included in the Dow Jones Best-in-Class Asia Pacific Index for the first time, in recognition of its long-term environmental, social, and governance strategy and vision. This inclusion places Henderson Land in the top 20% of the Asia-Pacific region’s 600 largest companies within the S&P Global Broad Market based on long-term economic, environmental, and social criteria.

The group also extended community efforts by offering a 2,000-square-foot space to set up a Community Living Room in Nam Cheong, enhancing the living environment for subdivided unit residents whilst offering temporary relief to families awaiting transitional housing.

Castle-inspired project for high-net-worth tenants

Henderson Land was also honoured at the Real Estate Asia Awards for 8 Castle Road, a residential development inspired by Italian castles, located in Hong Kong’s prestigious Mid-Levels.

Developed jointly with New World Development, this 51-storey twin-tower project offers 172 luxury apartments, ranging from approximately 830 to 12,600 square feet, each designed to maximise natural light and panoramic views of Victoria Harbor and the city skyline.

With interiors by renowned designers Antonio Citterio and Jean-Louis Denoit, the project features a stone-clad podium, glass rooftop, grand marble entrance with art installations, and a discreet gondola system for furniture delivery. Amongst its standout units, one of the three duplexes of approximately 8,150 to 8,300 square feet includes an indoor jacuzzi, whilst two penthouse triplexes boast rooftop pools. Residents enjoy a two-storey clubhouse with pools, gyms, a theatre, a banquet hall, and more. The development is equipped with an advanced lift system featuring over 20 double-decked lobbies, smart home apps for energy control, and real-time air purification sensor.
