Msheireb Properties scores two wins at Real Estate Asia Awards 2025 for urban regeneration project

Real estate development company Msheireb Properties emerged victorious with the Sustainable Development of the Year - Qatar and the Excellence of the Year for Sustainable Smart City Masterplanning - Qatar category wins in the coveted Real Estate Asia Awards 2025 for its pioneering urban regeneration project Msheireb Downtown Doha, which exemplified the country’s vision for sustainable urban development.

Msheireb Downtown Doha takes pride in its 800 residential units, numerous commercial spaces, and extensive cultural facilities, including museums, hotels, and the largest open-air covered pedestrian square in the region. Its "City under the City" concept relocates essential services underground, creating 450 kilometres of underground fibre optic networks, automated waste management systems, and the world's largest underground car park.

It also features over 6,400 photovoltaic solar panels, reducing energy consumption by 30% through energy-efficient buildings, solar integration, and district cooling. with 70% reduction of use of potable water. At the same time, the project skilfully merges traditional Qatari architecture with contemporary innovation, restoring heritage sites.

Backed by a $5.5b investment, Msheireb Downtown Doha has stimulated economic growth, creating significant employment opportunities and reinvigorating Doha’s real estate sector. Its mixed-use ecosystem, spanning residential, retail, and office spaces, has boosted tourism and commercial activity.
