Guess which hotels will open in Jakarta this year
At least three new hotels will be completed by the end of 2026.
Jakarta's hotel market saw limited new supply in Q1 2026, but investment activity showed renewed momentum as investors returned to the sector, according to JLL.
The only hotel opening during the quarter was the 28-room Brix Hotel Cilandak in South Jakarta. While no new hotels are expected in Q2, projects scheduled for completion later this year include the 175-key Handwritten Kapuk Hills, the 224-key Fairfield by Marriott Slipi and PARKROYAL Jakarta in the CBD-Thamrin district.
JLL said RevPAR increased in the luxury and upscale segments despite lower international arrivals, while the midscale segment recorded weaker performance due to declining occupancy and room rates.
The market's recovery was highlighted by the signing of the Waldorf Astoria Jakarta sale, with rising interest from foreign investors expected to support transaction activity through 2026.
According to JLL, luxury hotels are likely to benefit from new tourism initiatives focused on sustainability, wellness and high-value travel, while midscale operators face challenges from reduced government-related travel spending.
