Bangkok records six new hotel openings in Q2

The developments added over 1,500 new rooms to the city’s stock.

In a recent report, JLL revealed that six new hotels opened in Bangkok in Q2 2025, adding 1,526 rooms to the city, of which 86% of the total new supply was in the upscale segment.

In addition, the report said notable new openings include the 52-key Aman Nai Lert Bangkok, the 512-key Grande Centre Point Lumphini and the 405-key Grand Nikko Bangkok Sathorn.

Revenue per available room in Bangkok in H1 2025 was down from last year due to dropping occupancy as international visitation decreased. Hotels were, however, able to marginally raise their average daily rate.

In Q2 2025, Bangkok recorded about THB 3.3 billion in hotel transactions, including the Montien Hotel Surawong Bangkok deal.

Outlook: Bangkok hotels at the crossroads

The hotel sector in Bangkok will likely continue to navigate challenges throughout 2025 as macroeconomic and geopolitical situations remain and reshape travel decisions to Thailand’s capital city, and as tourists select destinations perceived as stable and secure.

With a declining number of Chinese tourists, hotels in Bangkok are likely to adjust their marketing strategies to further diversify their source markets.
