Guocoland’s Lentor Mansion to achieve Green Mark Platinum SLE Certification

The new project aligns with Singapore's environmental goals.

GuocoLand's Lentor Mansion is reaching new standards in residential sustainability as the developer’s first residential project to receive the Green Mark Platinum SLE certification due to its advanced sustainability features.

Jane Ong, Contracts & Procurement Director at GuocoLand, said, "Developers have a lot of influence on what is adopted in buildings. We focus on good design to cut down energy needs, implement energy-efficient features, maximise renewable energy systems, and reduce the carbon footprint of our supply chain.”

She highlighted the strategic implementations in GuocoLand’s developments, such as efficient facade systems and advanced building systems enhancing energy efficiency and indoor air quality.

"We installed extensive solar panels on all rooftop spaces available, enabling us to offset 60% of the energy consumption required for the common areas of the development,” Ong said, adding that this initiative far exceeds the 30% replacement requirements set for certification.

GuocoLand’s Residential Director Dora Chng added insights into the in-unit sustainability measures. "We are considering efficiency measures within the unit itself, such as installing fans to ensure that the units are naturally ventilated and using high energy efficient air conditioning," Chng explained.

She also noted the architectural considerations to enhance energy efficiency, including the use of a special glass to reduce heat gain and the strategic orientation of the building to minimise sun exposure.

"Residents will benefit from living in an environment that has a lot of greenery. We're able to borrow greenery from the nearby Hillock Park, which expands the landscape and greenery views," Chng stated.

Looking forward, Ong confirmed GuocoLand’s commitment to replicating these features in future projects. "We are already working on our next development to be super low energy. We are placing even greater emphasis on preserving the biodiversity of the surroundings and conserving an existing building on the land plot," she remarked.
