Jakarta CBD to see 100,000sqm of new office space by 2028
Outside the CBD, seven new developments are expected to enter the market.
In a report, Colliers revealed that newly launched office construction has yet to surface in Jakarta. As a result, the overall supply remains largely steady.
Within the CBD, the cumulative supply remains unchanged at around 7.38 million sqm, while outside the CBD, it stands at around 3.83 million sqm as of Q1 2025.
Here’s more from Colliers:
The lack of new office supplies indicates that developers are currently hesitant about launching new projects. However, opportunities for new developments still exist.
Developers are observed to be more inclined to build office spaces, often with considerable size and integrated into other developments, for example, Two Sudirman, Indonesia-1 North Tower (in CBD), and Menara Jakarta Office Tower (outside CBD). Certain developers are strategically timing these projects to align with anticipated demand, ensuring that future developments meet market needs.
Going forward to 2028, the CBD will see roughly 100,000 sqm of new office space. Meanwhile, outside the CBD, seven office developments are expected to be completed, adding an estimated 240,000 sqm of additional supply during 2025-2028.
